A new update about Pushpa 2 has fans talking. Word is that the movie’s background score will now involve Thaman and Anjaneesh Loknath along with Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), who’s the primary music composer. The addition of these two composers has surprised many, especially since Sukumar and DSP have had an unbeatable partnership over the years. Sukumar has even described DSP as “his soul” in previous interviews. So, why the sudden change?
This is why they made this move. The Pushpa 2 team is pushing hard to wrap up post-production, with November 20 set as the target for the first copy. However, the complete re-recording (RR) and some tweaks to an item song are still outstanding, putting heavy pressure on Devi Sri Prasad. Despite working nonstop, it seems DSP may not meet the deadline alone, so Thaman and Anjaneesh Loknath have been brought on board to help manage the workload.
Reports indicate that DSP has already completed a portion of the background score for the first half of the film. However, the remaining sections in the first half and the entire second half still need background scoring. Thaman and Anjaneesh will be dividing these responsibilities to ensure everything is completed on time.
It’s worth noting that Sukumar wasn’t particularly keen on working with any other music director besides DSP. However, given the tight schedule, he had no other option. Thaman, known for his speed and efficiency in delivering background scores, will be handling part of the RR. Now, the big question is whether Thaman can match Sukumar’s unique style and meet the director’s expectations within this short timeframe.
Stay tuned for more updates on Pushpa 2!
